Rules of conduct
Welcome to the Flekkefjord Public Library. We are commited to being a safe, clean and pleasnt place for reading, learning and other library activites. Visitors and patrons are expccted to comply with the following rules of conduct:
- Visitors to the public library have to act according to common decency and norwegian law.
- Clean after yourself and throw the trash in the designated containers.
- Use of sound with cellphones, PCs or other devices should be reduced in order to not disrupt others. We ask that you use a headset or earbuds with these devices.
- The public library is not a playarea. Climbing of furniture, running between shelves and other disruptive activites are not allowed.
- Bicycles and skateboards should be parked outside in its designated areas. Rollerblades are not allowed.
- Guide dogs or Service dogs are allowed into the library. Other animals are not permitted.
- Current disease guidelines from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health and Flekkefjord Municipality must be followed.
Expulsion from the premisses will happen in these cases:
- Intoxicted individuals or persons using drugs on the premisses.
- Persons that are disruptive due to noce, acting agressively or in a threatning manner towards staff or other visitors.
- Persons caught vandalising or other criminal activities.
Employees of the public library will first make it clear the rules of conduct that are asked of the visitors. If no change of behaviour happens, the person(s) in question can be asked to leave.
Expulsion happens temporariliy in the current situation. Serious or repeate behaviour can result in a longer expulsion and eventually a police report.
It is the public library manager and the Culture house manage who has the power to expel individuals based on breaches of the rules of conduct.
