LIBRARY CARD

Anyone living in Norway can get a library card by presenting a valid ID (passport).

Children under 15 years of age must have parental consent. Children can get library cards from the time they start school.

To borrow, you must have your library card with you. National library cards can be used throughout the country.
The first one is free. Report if your card is lost, a new one costs NOK 30.

You are responsible for ensuring that your personal and contact information is correct and always up to date.

LOAN PERIOD, RESERVATIONS AND INTERLOAN

The normal loan period is 4 weeks, but some materials have a shorter loan period.
Most loans can be renewed once.

Materials with a waiting list cannot be renewed. Remember to note the due date on your loans. The lender themselves has the responsibility to register and return their loans.

The material must be returned in the same condition as it was borrowed.

If the book or media you wish to borrow is loaned out, you can be put on the waiting list. If we do not have the material you want to borrow, you can try to order it from another library via bibsok.no . You will receive a notification by text message or email when the material is ready for collection. Reserved books must be collected within 5 days of receiving the notification.

LATE RETURNS

Overdue charges and warnings will be sent by email. Fees can be paid on «My page» in Bibliofil.

Rates: 1. warning: NOK 30.  2. warning: NOK 60.

Further failure to return overdue loans will result in an invoice being sent and the library card will be blocked for further borrowing without further notice.

REPLACEMENT OF MATERIAL

Invoice fee + NOK 100 per unit for preparation in addition to these rates:

Books, adults ……………..……………….. NOK 500

Magazines …………………………………… NOK 100

Digital medias ……….……………….……. NOK 300

Comics ……………..….……………………… NOK 300

Lost or damaged material will be replaced according to the current minimum price list.

If the material has a higher repurchase price, that price will be utilized.

Material borrowed from other libraries will be replaced according to the rates from
the lending library.
